JB, you're on the right track. The experience in the next few months should be documented. Especially the mood swings and " gotchas" that battery in an effect or a tuning miss-hap not sleeping, not eating, all these things change your playing. You have youth and family - both of these situations can go either way. Managing your expectations and remember you're a guitarist not psychic. It is what it is and enjoy every minute. I have 3 former student who are successful touring musicians. Check out Walt Stacey. A Berkeley Jazzer at 17 and now a solid studio and touring guitarist. Pretty much could play anything by the time he was 20. But he wanted to make a living not just a name - smart kid. He's doing it all right now. You can do the same thing if you seize opportunities and make good impressions as a quality person as well a good guitarist. Remember preparation as a musician is one thing, improving who we are as people is a life long journey. Now go be a mensch. BTW- I just did a radio interview in Ohio - some jazz station. I think i was on with Alex Skolnick. It was called the Fusion Show- WSCB...i think. Anyway, they played some of my stuff and we talked about how things were recorded, who played this , who played that , it was a lotta fun. Go kick some butt.

JB - I gave a listen to your aggressive jam - Soil Bed and just out of curiosity how do you think you'd fit in a touring band if it wasn't your own ? Lets say Prince or Maroon 5. I pulled these names because when i was 16 i was playing heavy music but then was asked to tour with a Nashville artist. My mom wouldn't allow it and i don't know if i could have cut it. I think you play well but how do you prepare for a "tour" if you don't know where or when that opportunity will happen?

My name is Jason Boone. I am 18 years old and I am a senior at Strongsville High School. I have been playing for 5 years and have opened for such bands as Sonata Arctica, Kamelot, The VilleBillies, Joshua Podolsky, and hed P.E. I someday want to be a touring professional player. My band Jason And The Fossils consists of Jason, Dan, (my Dad) and Bob ( my uncle) Boone.
